A vertical soil-less growing system
What is it?
Indoor Vertical Farming is a technology augmented method of growing produce in an indoor environment with carefully controlled conditions and specially designed LED lighting. It is a precision method of farming that reduces the proximity of food production to consumer bases. By doing this, IAG can maximise both yields and the value of real estate space. For investors and growers, this will lead to large profitability.
How it works?
IAG are able to integrate the Indoor Vertical Farming systems into a variety of platforms, most commonly unused warehouses, buildings and shipping containers. This will help enhance the value of real estate per square feet.
Using an 850游戏老版本 system, misting jets within vertical growing panels spray roots of plants. By watering the roots, excess water is then collected and reused and recycled as part of a closed loop system. This helps increase operational efficiency and the sustainability of the growing process. Excess water that is collected is automatically collected within water tanks and re-pumped back into the panels.
Specially designed LED lighting systems are used to mimic the natural sunlight. Using multi-spectrum technology, IAG is able to effect the development and enhance the growth of the plant at a precision level. Data is used optimise the growing of different plants and crops to maximise yields and reduce operating costs.
The farm is operated using a control system, which enables automation, helping reduce labour costs. It controls the temperature for environment and humidity control to help reflect real life climate. This is operating using automated sensors to increase the accuracy of the entire process. Fans are used to replicate natural wind patterns around the roots enhances plant growth. Excess spray flows through the tube and is returned to a reservoir to be reused.
Benefits of Indoor Vertical Farming:
IAG can increase yields by over tenfold compared to traditional farming per square metre. This is because produce is grown vertically which makes better use of space management and through the use of LED lighting to enhance plant growth. Plus, systems are automated, so much lower labour costs.
Increase accessibility of fresh produce/ crops
Seasonality constraints means supply is often restricted to a certain period of the year. For consumers this means living a healthy lifestyle very difficult due to the fluctuations of crop supply. Vertical farming can cater for this consumer preference with a more stable growing method due to its environment control systems.
As its soil-less, it reduces water usage by over 95%. IAG goes further with it’s closed loop system to recycle excess resources, increasing operational efficiency and profitability.
All year round crops supply
This is achieved due to the environment controlled technology, so crops are not subject to seasonality constraints or climate fluctuations. This means plant growth happens without any outside disruption which translates to revenue and profit.
Vertical indoor means no need to operate heavy machinery, reducing both workplace hazards and maintenance costs and lower emissions.
Traditional farming requires several areas of expertise and equipment. Vertical farming overcomes this with automated technology solutions that increase the yields. Low labour-intensive makes it easier to scale up as operations as it can easily be replicated.
